1. 01

   Robot vacuum

   Roborock Saros 20

   $2,999

Vacuums and mops the house on its own, and lifts itself over thresholds up to about 8.5 cm. The dock washes the mop pads with hot water.

A big spend, and pads, filters and bags are an ongoing cost.

2. 02

   Robot pet

   Loona

   $619 was $764

A small wheeled robot pet that plays games, follows gestures and your voice, and chats back. It can also be used to look in on the house from your phone.

Sold direct by the maker in Australian dollars rather than through an Australian shop, so shipping can take a while.
