House of Robots

The service

One system for the whole house, and an app built around it.

Lights, blinds, heating and cooling, cameras, locks, music, watering and the robots that clean the place, all answering in one app. Designed, installed and supported by the person who designed it.

What is in a full build

  • A custom app built for your house, with your rooms and your names on everything
  • One system, so everything answers in the same place instead of eight apps
  • The design, the install, the setup, and Daniel showing you how it works
  • Support after we leave

Full builds start at $5,000 and the range moves with the size of the house. The estimator puts a number on your version of it in about a minute.

What a room can do

Every one of these is optional, and a build usually starts with two or three of them rather than all of it at once. Each has its own page.

Blinds and curtains

Blinds that drop on the west side before the afternoon gets in, lift with the alarm, and close when the house goes to bed. We motorise the blinds you already own where we can, fit new ones where we cannot, and run all of them from the one app.

Lighting

Lights that come on at the level the room wants, dim as the evening goes, and turn themselves off behind you. The switch on the wall keeps working, the app runs the house-wide things, and nobody has to learn anything.

Locks

A front door that unlocks for the family, takes a code from the cleaner, tells you when the kids get home, and locks itself at night. Installed, set up, and in the same app as the rest of the house.

Watering

A garden that waters itself before dawn, skips the day it rained, and runs longer in a heatwave without anyone touching a dial. The controller you already own can often stay. What changes is that the house is in charge of it.

Heating and cooling

The bedrooms warm up before the alarm and the lounge warms up before dinner, and the rooms nobody is in get left alone. Your existing ducted or split systems, run properly, from the same app as everything else.

Garage and gates

The garage opens as the car turns into the street, closes itself if someone forgets, and tells you either way. The opener you already have usually stays. Gates and side doors come into the same system.

Cameras and sensors

Cameras at the doors and the driveway, recording to a drive inside the house, with the footage yours and no monthly fee. Door and window sensors that tell the house when it is empty. Alerts that say a person is at the door, not that a leaf moved.

Robots for your house

A camera robot that patrols the house on a schedule and can be sent to a door at two in the morning, or a robot dog that walks the place and meets you at the gate. Supplied, set up and supported.

From $2,500

What is not included

  • Electrical work that needs a licensed electrician, which is quoted separately by the electrician
  • Buying replacement gear where what you own has no way into a single system
  • Building work, patching and painting
  • Network cabling in a house that has none

Licensed electrical work is quoted by the electrician doing it, in every city, because that is how it works in Australia. It is a separate number on purpose so you can see it.

Who it suits

3 bedrooms and up
Below that there is not enough house to justify what a full build costs, and off the shelf gear set up yourself does most of the job. The compatibility checker is free either way.
People who already own some of it
Most houses have a few smart things and four apps to run them. A setup job pulls what you own into one place before anything new gets bought.
People building or renovating
The cheapest time to run a cable is while the walls are open. If a build is happening, the design wants to happen before the plasterer does.
People who want it done for them
You do not have to learn any of this. Say what you want the house to do, and Daniel designs it, installs it, sets it up and shows you how it works. The measure of a good build is how rarely you open the app.
