What is not in the number
- Electrical work that needs a licensed electrician, which is quoted separately by the electrician
- Buying replacement gear where what you own has no way into a single system
- Building work, patching and painting
- Network cabling in a house that has none
Whether the walls can be opened, what wiring is already there, how many light points each room has, what the switchboard can take, heritage rules, and how far apart the ends of the house are. Those get looked at once you have talked to Daniel. Everything here is an estimate until then.

Why three bedrooms and up?
A full build puts one system across the whole house with a custom app on top, and below three bedrooms there is not enough house to justify what that costs. Smaller places are better served by off the shelf gear you set up yourself.
What is the custom app?
An app built for your house rather than a generic one. Your rooms, your names for them, the four things you actually use put where your thumb lands, and nothing else on the screen. It is included in a full build, not an extra.
Why is it a range?
The gap between the low and the high end is the house: how many light points, whether the walls can be opened up, what is already there, how the wiring runs, and how deep the finishes go. Talking to Daniel about the house is what turns the range into a quote.
Do I have to do all of it at once?
No. One system goes in first and the rest gets added later. The order that costs least is usually the one that follows other work already happening in the house, like a repaint or a new kitchen.
What happens after it is installed?
It gets supported. Things change, the house changes, and someone has to keep it working. Support is part of the build rather than a thing you go looking for afterwards.
